Job Description:

AECOM is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer - Marine Structures to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will work on designing and developing Marine facilities and infrastructure such as jetties, wharfs, and piers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical input to Structural studies and design of Marine facilities and infrastructure.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource and technical advisor for the team.
  • Develop and implement study and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline components of PS&E packages.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess no less than:

  • A University Degree in Structural Engineering + four (4) years of relevant experience in the Structural design of marine facilities and infrastructure.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered. Engineering designation (P.Eng) is required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in pile foundations and concrete decks.
  • Experience in salt water construction.
