The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location of the job.

Job Description

As an Estate Manager in our Consumer Insolvency team, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals recover from financial distress. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Service Delivery
    • Assist with planning and delivery of consumer insolvency services
    • Assist with data analysis and the review of financial records
    • Assist with administering formal insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies and proposals
  • Relationship Building
    • Develop relationships with current and potential referral sources, including credit counsellors, debt counsellors, lawyers, accountants, etc.
  • Document Preparation
    • Prepare and review all relevant BIA documentation, including Statements of Affairs, 170 Reports, Court Orders, and Affidavits
  • Quality Control
    • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues or key risks relevant to the debtor
  • Process Improvement
    • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Flexibility
    • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset
  • Certifications
    • Completion of the Insolvency Administration course and/or BIA Insolvency Counselor course
  • Experience
    • 3 to 4 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience outside of insolvency will also be considered
  • Knowledge
    • Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
