Job Title: School Lead
About the Role
The Dexterra Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Lead to join our team. As a School Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of associates to prepare and serve a healthy and flavorful menu selection in a school cafeteria setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus and recipes that incorporate nutritious and delicious food options, while complying with School Food and Beverage Policy PPM150.
- Lead the team in food preparation and service, ensuring high-quality dishes are presented to customers.
- Ensure all required health and safety regulations and procedures are being followed, including relevant provincial and federal legislation and FoodSafe and HACCP standards.
- Provide training and coaching sessions with staff to ensure proper procedures and best practices are being followed.
- Monitor sales volume and adjust production volume and menu plan accordingly to maximize sales and reduce waste.
- Assess tasks and processes, and develop and implement ways to improve efficiency and output while maintaining safety and consistency.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with:
Culinary experience and excellence.Five years of experience in the food service industry leading high-volume culinary teams.ServeSafe and/or FoodSafe certification.Red Seal Chef status would be considered an asset.Valid G driver's license with a clean driver's abstract would be considered an asset.Superior written and verbal communication skills.Able to effectively handle the concerns of employees, customers, and clients with tact.Able to effectively use a computer and all related software, including POS equipment.-
