About the RoleThis is a permanent position requiring approximately 35-40 hours of work per week.
Key Responsibilities- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints: Utilize various tools to apply multiple layers of compound, ensuring seamless joints and a smooth finish.
- Cut and install metal corner beads: Protect exterior corners with metal beading, guaranteeing a sturdy and secure structure.
- Filling joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks: Fill imperfections with joint compound using trowels and broad knives for a flawless finish.
- Measuring, cutting, fitting and installing drywall sheets: Accurately measure and cut drywall sheets to fit perfectly around studs or joists, ensuring a secure and even installation.
- Positioning and securing drywall sheets: Secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs using screws or nails, guaranteeing stability and strength.
- Smoothing out excess compound: Smooth out any excess compound using specialized tools, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next.
- Taping over joints: Embed tape into compound using a taping machine, creating a seamless joint that enhances the overall structure.
This role involves working on-site, often at heights, and requires the ability to lift heavy materials.
CompensationThe estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the requirements of the job.
