Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our team at Potentia Human Resources Inc. in Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring timely payroll processing.

About the Role

  • Maintain a full set of books, including bank reconciliations;
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable;
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including reviewing and approving employee expenses, reconciling timesheets, and managing attendance records such as sick days, vacation, and overtime through our payroll provider;
  • Conduct month end and year-end adjustments, reconciliations and finalize working papers;
  • Prepare management reports for month end and assist with grant applications, donations, tracking of fund usage, and issuance of charitable donation receipts;
  • Manage the flow of all finances through the company, including donations, and coordinating with fundraising activities;
  • Communicate and manage funding programs from different agencies;
  • Support leadership team with budget creation & periodic review;
  • Communicate professionally and positively with clients and other stakeholders;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of full cycle Bookkeeping experience;
  • Certification or related education in business or accounting is an asset;
  • Proficiency with accounting software, Sage 50 is an asset;
  • Strong computer literacy, including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • In depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices;
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record keeping;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks;
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team setting;
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity.

This is a part-time position, offering approximately 32-40 hours per week. The hourly rate for this role is expected to range from $30 to $35, depending on experience and qualifications.
