The estimated annual base salary for this role is $120,000 CAD, plus an annual bonus program for all regular employees.

**Job Description**

The Department Manager, IT Applications is responsible for growing and leading the teams that oversee applications within BBA's IT department.

You will be called upon to provide advice in decision-making when selecting, integrating, operating, and using all corporate applications.

You will work closely with your colleagues in the Infrastructure and Operations group as well as the IT Service Centre.

**Main Responsibilities:**

  • Supervise the work of all applications teams.
  • Establish, lead, and execute all application initiatives and monitor progress.
  • Define the scope and cost estimates for the required work and project deadlines for internal clients in specific areas, including Operations, Finance, Business Development, Human Resources, Project Management.
  • Lead application-related services by managing the corporate application portfolio (licences, contract renewals, versions, and rollouts).
  • Share your knowledge and experience with others.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation by keeping up-to-date with new trends in workplace technologies.
  • Oversee the implementation of the DevOps methodology within the various product teams.
  • Establish relevant performance indicators and use them to monitor and optimize work.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills (English) to explain concepts and digital technologies to business leaders.
  • Strong leadership skills: team building, achieving consensus, balancing team and individual responsibilities, and achieving goals by collaborating with people outside your authority while demonstrating ethics and integrity in your work.
  • Experience in planning and implementing strategic technology solutions as well as formulating and updating policies.
  • Ability to work with other business units (at the management level) to influence and implement changes to meet shared goals.
  • Ability to effectively guide and support changes affecting employees, processes, and technology in a fast-paced, complex operational environment.
  • Courage to suggest or support bold ideas.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with many teams.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, information management, or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five to eight years of work experience, preferably in business or IT management and ideally a combination of both.
  • Three to five years of experience in team management.
  • Ability to promote innovation programs as a catalyst for organizational change.
  • Ability to travel to work at other BBA offices.
