Warehouse Supervisor Job Description

MacLean Engineering is seeking a skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Collingwood, Ontario. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective inventory management, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

About the Position:
  • Motivate and engage a team of employees to achieve operational excellence.
  • Maximize utilization and efficiency by ensuring the correct distribution of skills and tasks.
  • Communicate clear goals, expectations, and instructions to team members, and collaborate with peers and management to achieve common objectives.
  • Monitor workflow and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Track and report on team performance, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Ensure accurate execution of cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and shipping and receiving logs.
  • Approve timecards, review vacation requests, and monitor absenteeism and tardiness.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, coach, and develop performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and hold employees accountable.
  • Delegate HS&E inspections, review JH&S Committee inspections, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Enforce safe work practices, correct employee behavior, and investigate incidents.
  • Prepare incident reports, develop corrective action plans, and provide modified duties and return-to-work programs.
  • Conduct H&S risk analysis and develop action plans to eliminate risk.
  • Provide new hire orientation, deliver safe work training, and conduct daily toolbox meetings and monthly safety talks.
  • Achieve profit enhancement through cost reduction, analyze workflow, and implement process improvements.
About You:
  • Minimum high school diploma or certificate of completion.
  • Diploma or degree in materials management or a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in an MRP/ERP environment is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MRP/ERP.
