Job Title: Manager of Development Engineering

Destinationone Consulting is working with the City of Maple Ridge, BC to find a highly skilled Manager of Development Engineering. This is a key role that will lead the Development Engineering portfolio, overseeing the review of plans for subdivisions and other developments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Development Engineering Section, including planning, budgeting, and staff management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for Development Engineering, ensuring compliance with municipal standards and regulations.
  • Review and direct the review of plans and designs submitted for subdivisions, rezoning, development permits, and building permits.
  • Ensure that all legal and other provisions are in place prior to issuance of development permits.
  • Provide policy advice to the Municipal Engineer, leadership team, and Council on related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with Council, stakeholders, and the public on development issues.
  • Plan and coordinate the Department's annual work program and budget.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, plus a minimum of five years of municipal-related engineering experience at a supervisory level or higher.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGBC.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
