About the Role

Bombardier is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance and support to our business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal clients to resolve complex legal issues and develop effective strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Manage litigation files worldwide, supervising external counsel and developing strategies to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Attend depositions, trials, and mediations as needed, providing expert testimony and negotiation skills.
  • Handle discovery and e-discovery phases of complex litigation matters, including witness preparation and reporting to management.
  • Assume a leading role in risk management, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the company.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal clients on litigation prevention and best practices.
Requirements
  • Must be a practicing member of a Canadian province or US state bar, preferably the Quebec Bar.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in commercial litigation, preferably at a renowned law firm.
  • Strong leadership skills, autonomy, and judicial instincts to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a highly technical environment with engineering and aerospace concepts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
  • Fluency in both French and English, both orally and in writing.
