Elderly Mental Health Specialist

At Vancouver Coastal Health, we are seeking an experienced Elderly Mental Health Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team in caring for patients generally over 65 with mental health problems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge base in psychopharmacology and psychological interventions, as well as experience working with geriatric populations.
This role involves providing consultations and longer-term psychiatric care as necessary, practicing person-centered care, utilizing a team-based approach, and providing culturally safe and responsive care for Indigenous patients.
As an Elderly Mental Health Specialist at Vancouver Coastal Health, you will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with case managers, counsellors, neuropsychologists, and administrative staff to provide comprehensive care to patients.
We are offering a competitive salary of approximately $250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and development within the organization.

About the Role:- Provide consultative services to healthcare providers and other stakeholders to promote high-quality care for older adults with mental health issues
- Collaborate with community agencies, social services, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of older adults with mental health conditions
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the most effective course of treatment for each patient
