We are seeking a skilled Steel Stud Framer to join our team at Aldergrove Mobile Home Park. As a Steel Stud Framer, you will be responsible for installing steel studs in residential and commercial construction projects. Your duties will include reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling and joining materials. You will also be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work on sites, instructing apprentices, and supervising other workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Scheduling and coordinating work on sites
  • Instructing apprentices
  • Supervising other workers
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments

  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
Support for Youths
  • Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
  • Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
Support for Indigenous People
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
Support for Mature Workers
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers

We offer a permanent work term with 32 to 40 hours per week and English as the primary work language.
