About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Supervisor to join our team at Optel. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing one or more multidisciplinary teams consisting of developers, software architects, and product owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structure, build, and lead a highly effective team.
  • Mentor, inspire, train, and hold the team accountable for delivering results, spreading best practices, and enhancing their skills and impact.
  • Ensure the quality of work and the individual performance of team members within their squads.
  • Participate in SaaS architecture.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and develop improvement or development plans as needed.
  • Recruit new talent and establish service agreements with potential partners.
  • Closely monitor project progress with the team and communicate updates to management.
  • Promote the proper use of various tools in place.
  • Encourage close collaboration between teams and departments.
  • Ensure the dissemination of best development practices and corporate culture.
  • Propose improvements to current processes and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Suggest and implement tools to enhance squad efficiency.
  • Support ongoing training plans for team members in terms of technical skills acquisition (coding dojo, etc.).
  • Present, when necessary, architectures and methodologies to clients and auditors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years or more of experience in software development.
  • 3 years or more of experience in team management as a manager or team lead.
  • Experience in software architecture.
  • Proven delivery of at least one SaaS product.
  • Bilingual in French and English (oral and written).
  • Experience in object-oriented programming.
  • Experience in server application and/or microservices development using languages and frameworks such as C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript, etc.
