Job Title: Electrical Transport Designer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Transport Designer to join our team at Arcadis in Markham, Toronto. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for transportation facilities, including traffic signals and roadway lighting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for transportation facilities, including traffic signals and roadway lighting
  • Collaborate with technical staff to prepare project budgets and schedules
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members to ensure successful project delivery
  • Lead and contribute to the design, production, coordination, and management of traffic signal and lighting projects
  • Develop traffic signal, lighting, or auxiliary systems designs in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Render utility coordination duties for Electrical Transport related Design and Construction Projects
  • Prepare technical reports, tender documentation, and field support
Requirements:
  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Traffic/Civil Engineering
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manuals, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Highway Traffic Act, and Technical Manuals published by the Transportation Association of Canada
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle is required
  • Experience with pole loading software, such as SPIDAcalc or equivalent, is an asset
  • Experience performing electrical site inspections, construction supervision, and contract administration
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering complex projects
