We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at Paradise Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in all aspects of carpentry.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Implementation: Prepare detailed layouts and designs for various construction projects, adhering to building codes and regulations.
- Material Selection and Procurement: Source and procure high-quality materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and other materials, to meet project requirements.
- Construction and Installation: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to create custom structures, including foundations, floor beams, walls, and roof systems.
- Finishing Touches: Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a seamless finish.
- Project Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects and meeting client expectations.
- Team Leadership: Instruct and supervise apprentices, as well as other workers, to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Cost Estimation and Control: Accurately estimate costs and materials required for projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and renovations to residential and commercial properties, including wooden structures in various settings.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
- Physical Demands: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, and working in a physically demanding environment.
- Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgement, reliability, and a team player attitude.
- Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
- Work Language: English.
- Work Term: Permanent.
