About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our waterpark team as a Lifeguard. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch guest service, while also ensuring the highest level of safety and security within our facilities. Your primary focus will be on monitoring and maintaining the safety of our guests, as well as responding promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies that may arise.
Essential Responsibilities
The following is a comprehensive list of the key responsibilities associated with this position:
- Ensure 100% safety and satisfaction of all guests from the moment they arrive at the hotel until they check out.
- Welcome guests, perform assigned duties, and inform guests about hotel amenities, facilities, and services.
- Operate the waterpark according to standards operating procedures and with exceptional guest service, following all safety and security procedures.
- Take responsibility for your actions and perform work with little or no supervision, ask for and offer help when needed, including appropriate people in decision-making.
- Maintain a high level of awareness and alertness at all times, constantly scanning the area for potential hazards or risks.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies that may arise, using lifesaving skills and first aid as necessary.
- Report all incidents to head lifeguard and general manager of the hotel, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-service meetings, trainings, and other events as regulated by brand standards.
- Engage in daily start-up and closure procedures of water park attractions, indoor and outdoor, including trash removals, dirty towel collection to housekeeping, replacement of fresh towels, equipment, tubes, and lost and found items.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- National Lifeguarding Services (NLS) certification and First Aid, CPR level 3 with AED.
- Ability to stand 90% of daily shift, lift up to 25 lbs., walk 90% of shift, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
- Capacity to work in stationary positions for long periods (up to 8 hours), frequently work in hot and humid environments, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
- Frequently swim, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
- Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
