Job Summary:

SaskPower is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Powerline Technician Apprentices. This role involves working at heights, outdoors, and in challenging environments. The successful candidate will obtain an Interprovincial Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certificate upon successful completion of four apprenticeship years.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Powerline Technician Apprentice, you will:

  • Learn to construct, repair, and maintain power pole lines and underground cable systems.
  • Develop basic climbing skills, safety procedures, tool/material use, and operation of "Powered Mobile Equipment".
  • Work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Handle large, bulky, and heavy materials or equipment.
Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Meet the Provincial Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Standards.
  • Be able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
  • Be willing to relocate anywhere in the province.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

This position falls within the scope of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 2067.
