Job Title: Software Control Systems Engineer

Talent Compass is seeking a highly skilled Software Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Dawson Creek, BC. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in designing and developing control systems for manufacturing processes.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in automation and process control systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing results-oriented engineering solutions that achieve predetermined project goals and customer requirements. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop detailed designs of automation and process control systems, integrating PCs, PLCs, AC or DC drives, position controllers, and single or multi-loop controllers.

You will also be responsible for integrating statistical control components into system design, including basic control charting, real-time & historical trending, remote monitoring, and data acquisition/control. Additionally, you will develop, install, and debug control system programming, including PC operating, PC/PLC communications, and PLC HMI and/or specialty component software.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Develop Automation Systems: Develop and implement results-oriented engineering solutions that achieve predetermined project goals and customer requirements.
  2. Control System Integration: Design and integrate PCs, PLCs, AC or DC drives, position controllers, and single or multi-loop controllers into automation and process control systems.
  3. Statistical Control Components: Integrate statistical control components into system design, including basic control charting, real-time & historical trending, remote monitoring, and data acquisition/control.
  4. Control System Programming: Develop, install, and debug control system programming, including PC operating, PC/PLC communications, and PLC HMI and/or specialty component software.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in automation and process control systems and techniques.
  3. Solid understanding of networking equipment and software, routers and cabling, plant PLCs, medium and high voltage systems, and HMI software.
  4. Detailed working knowledge of all HMI hardware and software in use, including Wonderware Intouch and Active Factory.
  5. Detailed working knowledge of AC & DC drives, coordinated drive systems, IT systems, PC hardware and software, servers, fiber optic cabling, and network switches.

Compensation: The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
