Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a long-term care facility. This includes administering medications, conducting specimen collection, and monitoring patients' progress. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Conduct specimen collection and lab tests as required
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Provide wound care and dressing changes as needed
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing and dressing
- Document patient care and progress in the medical record
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the province of work
- Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods
