Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Sang's Tile and Flooring. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tile, as well as mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare surfaces for tile installation by cleaning, repairing, and applying a layer of adhesive.
- Measure and mark surfaces to ensure accurate tile placement.
- Mix and apply mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives to secure tiles in place.
- Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base.
- Align and straighten tiles to ensure a level and even surface.
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
- Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
- Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets.
- Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces.
- Install tile strips.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the field.
- Ability to distinguish between colours.
- Attention to detail.
- Large workload.
- Tight deadlines.
- Physically demanding.
- Handling heavy loads.
- Bending, crouching, kneeling.
This is an on-the-road job with various locations. You will be working in a commercial, residential, and various locations setting.
