Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Materials Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating planning activities within the materials department to support production requirements. This role will involve improving the department through training and continuing education.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate planning activities within the materials department to support production requirements.
- Process materials to the point of use (POU) location by the requirement date.
- Monitor and track parts status prior to and during production build.
- Responsible for inventory accuracy and achieving inventory goals – to reduce inventory adjustments.
- Act on daily Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) messages.
- Ensure all materials aspects of the Materials Release Board (MRB) processes are followed.
- Ensure accurate implementation of Engineering Change Orders to released/unreleased jobs.
- Responsible for ensuring work orders are released to manufacturing on a timely basis and that planned orders are released on the appropriate dates.
- Assist the materials team and leadership in achieving the budget for materials, supplies, salary/indirect labor, overtime, and operational expenses.
- Promote and facilitate lean manufacturing/5S programs for materials.
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety policies, procedures, and processes.
- 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of MRP systems, MS Office, Oracle, and Excel skills are required.
- Motivated self-starter with a high level of initiative.
- Proven interpersonal skills combined with strong time management and analytical skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- APICS certification or currently enrolled in the program would be considered an asset.
