Job Title: Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

At Sotera Health Company, we are seeking an experienced Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Production Irradiator Engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, testing, and technical support of production irradiator components.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Apply advanced engineering principles and standards to design and develop irradiator components and assemblies.
  2. Lead or participate in all aspects of the design and manufacture of irradiator components, including prototype development, testing, and quality control.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on-time and on-budget.
  4. Ensure that all designs meet applicable engineering, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in production irradiators for dry and wet storage panoramic irradiators.
  6. Provide guidance and quality control for activities of other team members.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of five years relevant work experience in mechanical engineering.
  2. Professional Engineer designation or eligibility for accreditation as a professional engineer.
Skills and Competencies:
  1. Technical expertise in design and engineering analysis of mechanical systems and components.
  2. Experience with finite element analysis using SolidWorks or other software tools.
  3. Knowledge of welding and radiation shielding design and analysis.
  4. Excellent verbal communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  5. Proven ability to exercise sound technical judgments and provide technical guidance to other engineers and technicians.
Additional Requirements:
  1. Occasional overtime to meet project requirements.
  2. Travel requirements for international projects.

As a Nuclear Energy Worker, you will be required to complete all necessary training and certification.
