Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Professor of Mechanical Engineering to join our faculty. As a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of mechanical engineering, as well as conducting research and contributing to the development of our academic programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering, including principles of organization, production processes, and organization and planning production.
  • Conduct research in mechanical engineering and publish scholarly articles in reputable journals.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for mechanical engineering programs.
  • Advise and mentor students in their academic and professional pursuits.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement academic programs and research initiatives.

Requirements

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong background and expertise in mechanical engineering, with a focus on principles of organization, production processes, and organization and planning production.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong research record, with a focus on mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional engineer in one of the provinces of Canada.
  • Experience in developing and implementing curriculum for mechanical engineering programs.
  • Experience in conducting research and publishing scholarly articles in reputable journals.
