Job Summary:

Gentek, a leading manufacturer and distributor of building products, is seeking an experienced Electromechanic to join our team. As an Electromechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and modifications on our manufacturing equipment and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operation of manufacturing processes
  • Document and report maintenance activities, including work performed and materials used
  • Participate in the design, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and systems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in electromechanical maintenance and repair

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an electromechanic in a manufacturing environment
  • Diploma in electromechanics (DEP) or equivalent
  • RCA certification (device connection)
  • Knowledge of motor control, compressor operation, hydraulic concepts, pneumatics, mechanics, electrical, and electromechanics
  • Experience with OMRON and Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Ability to read, create, and interpret electrical plans
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
