About the Role:
Fastfrate Group is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our team at our Ontario office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in repairing and maintaining forklifts and other heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Interpret technical manuals to perform necessary maintenance and repairs, utilizing knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot forklift problems, identifying imperfections, potential issues, and malfunctions in brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose and repair mast and attachment components, as well as perform tire/wheel changes and LP system maintenance.
- Conduct safety inspections of forklifts before releasing them to the work floor, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Clean equipment and work areas as required, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure work methods and areas meet safety requirements, promoting a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in forklift and heavy equipment repair.
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
