About the Role

Zida Academy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Childhood Supervisor to join our team. As an Early Childhood Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our child care centre, ensuring the highest standards of care and education for our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment Maintenance: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Supervision: Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a child care centre or nursery school setting.
  • Certifications: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, initiative, organized.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Noisy, non-smoking, air-conditioned.
  • Work Setting: Child care centre, nursery school, kindergarten, day care centre or nursery school.
  • Physical Demands: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, manual dexterity.
