As a Lead Field Review Engineer for SYSTRA IBT, you will oversee a team of engineers conducting field reviews and evaluating compliance with design documentation and construction quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a team providing engineering support during construction.
  2. Conduct field reviews and site visits to ensure compliance with design documentation and construction quality procedures.
  3. Coordinate with designers to provide engineering support during construction for the implementation and inspection of work, including QA/QC documentation.
  4. Maintain detailed documentation of field reviews and observations.
  5. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and other construction specialists.
  6. Bring site and design issues to the attention of the design team.
  7. Monitor compliance of construction activities with design documentation.
  8. Coordinate and perform reviews of construction quality records, shop drawings, and other construction documents.
  9. Other related tasks.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent.

Years of experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience as a field review engineer on infrastructure construction projects.

Professional engineer license: Registered or eligible to register with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.

  1. Site experience on infrastructure construction projects, particularly performing field reviews.
  2. Knowledge of bridge design principles and practices.
  3. Experience with precast/prestressed concrete, elevated guideway, and/or transit projects is an asset.
  4. Familiarity with relevant codes, including CSA S6, CSA A23.1, A23.2, A23.3, and A23.4.
  5. Knowledge of health, safety, and security best practices to ensure a safe working environment. Formal training is an asset.
  6. Experience in site inspection/observation.
  7. Experience in the railway industry is an asset.
  8. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Experience working on collaborative and/or Design-Build projects.

  1. Effective communication, coordination, and teamworking skills.
  2. Outstanding attention to detail and analytical ability.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines and schedules.
  4. Willingness and availability to travel as needed.
  5. Must have a valid driver's license.

Remuneration: The expected salary range for this position is $145,000-$165,000 per year. The exact salary will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, qualifications, certifications, competencies, and other relevant criteria.
