As a Lead Field Review Engineer for SYSTRA IBT, you will oversee a team of engineers conducting field reviews and evaluating compliance with design documentation and construction quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a team providing engineering support during construction.
- Conduct field reviews and site visits to ensure compliance with design documentation and construction quality procedures.
- Coordinate with designers to provide engineering support during construction for the implementation and inspection of work, including QA/QC documentation.
- Maintain detailed documentation of field reviews and observations.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and other construction specialists.
- Bring site and design issues to the attention of the design team.
- Monitor compliance of construction activities with design documentation.
- Coordinate and perform reviews of construction quality records, shop drawings, and other construction documents.
- Other related tasks.
Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent.
Years of experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience as a field review engineer on infrastructure construction projects.
Professional engineer license: Registered or eligible to register with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
- Site experience on infrastructure construction projects, particularly performing field reviews.
- Knowledge of bridge design principles and practices.
- Experience with precast/prestressed concrete, elevated guideway, and/or transit projects is an asset.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, including CSA S6, CSA A23.1, A23.2, A23.3, and A23.4.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and security best practices to ensure a safe working environment. Formal training is an asset.
- Experience in site inspection/observation.
- Experience in the railway industry is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working on collaborative and/or Design-Build projects.
Personal and soft skills:
- Effective communication, coordination, and teamworking skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail and analytical ability.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines and schedules.
- Willingness and availability to travel as needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license.

Reports to: Management Team
Remuneration: The expected salary range for this position is $145,000-$165,000 per year. The exact salary will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, qualifications, certifications, competencies, and other relevant criteria.
