Food Product Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Food Product Developer (Frozen) to join our team at Inovata Foods. As a key member of our Research and Development team, you will be responsible for formulating new product concepts and recipes, conducting sensory evaluations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities- Product Formulation: Develop and refine product concepts and recipes, considering factors such as taste, texture, appearance, and nutritional content.
- Sensory Evaluations: Conduct sensory evaluations, including sampling with all senses, to ensure products meet our high standards.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Food Safety and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all developed products meet food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality assurance teams to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of experiments, formulations, and specifications.
- Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project findings, progress, and recommendations.
- Industry Research: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and ingredient innovations, including attending trade shows.
- Innovation: Contribute to the ideation and implementation of innovative food concepts and solutions.
- Hands-on Work: Perform hands-on work by building samples in our test kitchen.
- Customer Presentations: Assist in preparing and presenting customer innovation sessions.
- Bill of Materials: Assist in creating and revising the Bill of Materials.
- New Raw Materials: Assist with onboarding new raw materials with QA/Purchasing.
- Trials: Attend trials with R&D Director at both manufacturing plants; Edmonton and Tillsonburg.
- Market Research: Conduct research on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to identify new product opportunities.
- Education: Completion of relevant post-secondary education or equal experience.
- Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment is mandatory.
- Additional Experience: Experience working within restaurants/bakery an asset.
- Certifications: HACCP Certification is considered an asset.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Abilities: Must be able to participate in all sensory testing that includes (meat, seafood & cheese).
- Salary: Salaried position based on experience and education. Salary to be negotiated.
