Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer to become a vital part of our innovative R&D Packaging and Sellable Product team. In this role, you will take charge of the design, development, and execution of packaging solutions for our products while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain, to devise strategies for effective product commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead diverse packaging design initiatives to support new product development and ongoing improvement projects.
  • Formulate packaging specifications based on insights from Voice of Customer (VOCs), business needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Employ CAD software and prototyping methods to design and refine packaging solutions.
  • Assess new packaging designs through rigorous testing to ensure they meet performance standards.
  • Generate Design History File (DHF) and Device Master Record (DMR) documentation to document design control and risk management activities related to packaging development.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to create strategies that streamline regulatory approvals and product commercialization in various markets.
  • Independently organize and manage tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
  • Assist in investigations related to packaging non-conformances and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in packaging engineering, ideally within the medical device sector.
  • Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and packaging design applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Understanding of packaging testing standards (e.g., ISTA 3A, ASTM D4169).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities (both verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the design control process as per ISO 13485.
  • Outstanding project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
