Job Title: Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at Baker Tilly Gatineau Inc. As a key member of our tax group, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to our clients and ensuring compliance with all tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review tax filings to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Offer tax planning services to clients to minimize tax liabilities
  • Research and prepare tax memoranda to address complex tax issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve client service and implement changes
  • Participate in special engagements and projects as needed
  • Enhance existing and develop new community relationships and networks
  • Manage staff in the tax group and provide guidance and coaching
  • Support and mentor firm staff on tax matters
  • Prepare and present technical sessions for staff
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of progressive public accounting experience with a tax specialty and a professional designation
  • Bilingual is a requirement
  • Successful completion or in the process of completing the CICA In-depth tax course
  • Sound technical knowledge of Canadian tax-related issues
  • Ability to provide value-added service to clients
  • Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions
  • Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment and ability to work to meet deadlines
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
