Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Engineering to join our Market Risk and Product Control Technology team at TD Securities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our risk platform, ensuring it aligns with regulatory and audit requirements.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in cloud migrations, scalability, and low-latency systems. They will also possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.

This is a challenging role that requires a deep understanding of risk and financial products, as well as experience working with big data sets and bi-temporal support. About the Role

The Senior Manager, Engineering will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and implementation of our risk platform
  • Ensuring the platform aligns with regulatory and audit requirements
  • Managing and executing group-wide strategic deliveries for cloud, scalability, and technology simplification
  • Collaborating with business partners across trading, finance, and risk management

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in computer science, engineering, or mathematics, and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a software engineer working on large-scale development projects. They will also have 3-4 years of team management experience and be able to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team.

Requirements
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of core Java and Spring boot
  • Deep understanding and experience with cloud migrations and transformations
  • Working experience with various DB solutions such as Cassandra, IDLS, HBASE, and SQL Server
  • Experience working with Spark, Hadoop, and REST services
  • Experience working with scalable and low-latency systems
  • Strong understanding of risk and financial products
  • Knowledge and experience with Scala is a plus
  • Experience working on big data sets with bi-temporal support
  • Working knowledge on middleware (Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, Apache Active MQ)
