Job Title: Building Consultant - Restoration Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Consultant - Restoration Expert to join our team at J.S. Held LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for estimating large commercial complex losses and providing expert reports to support our clients in making important high-value decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface with clients and project representatives to understand their needs and provide expert advice.
  • Schedule and perform field inspections to evaluate the scope of work and damage.
  • Estimate medium to large commercial and residential projects using industry-standard estimating tools.
  • Document and analyze project data, including schedules, contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
  • Provide technical direction to other consultants and collaborate with Business Development Managers to develop new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or associate degree from an accredited college or university, or 10 years of demonstrable experience in the restoration industry.
  • Relevant experience in the restoration and/or restoration contracting field, specializing in working with insurance companies.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, such as Xactimate, Symbility, or RS Means.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality expert reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IICRC-related credentials or certifications.
  • RRO, PMP, or other relevant certifications.
  • Proficiency in the French language.

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications:

  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
  • May be exposed to UV radiation from the sun, radon, or other forms of air pollution.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time, locally, out-of-province, abroad, and for CAT response when needed.
