About the Role

We are seeking a skilled DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at Sierra Space. As a key member of our Orbital Missions and Services (OMS) division, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to ensure the security and efficiency of our development processes.

About You

We are looking for a dreamer who aligns with our values, vision, and audacious goals. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using frameworks such as the Big Bang DevSecOps framework. You will also create and maintain On-Prem and Cloud Kubernetes resources, implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems, and collaborate closely with software developers to optimize development processes and embed security practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using frameworks such as the Big Bang DevSecOps framework.
  • Create and maintain On-Prem and Cloud Kubernetes resources.
  • Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems for proactive issue resolution.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of services.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers to optimize development processes and embed security practices.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Conduct comprehensive system tests including security, performance, and availability assessments.
  • Ensure the team is producing quality-driven software that is reproducible and follows best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • The willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Security Plus or IAT2 certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Security Plus or IAT2 certification.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer.
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines (preferably using GitHub or GitLab).
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux software development.
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks in software development and create solutions to increase efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of security and software development best practices and principles.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with additional DevSecOps tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience with C/C++ build tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.
  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.
Working Conditions:
  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.).
  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
  • Rarely exposed to loud noises.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and illegal drug use.

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position. Estimated Starting Salary Range: $104,827.91 - $144,138.39
