We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Blue Arc Homes. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction and renovation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Install Fixtures and Equipment: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a safe and functional living space.
- Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for each project to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion.
- Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
- Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade.
- Work Environment: Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty, and outdoors environments.
- Work Setting: Willingness to work in construction, various locations, and renovation settings.
- Level of Expertise: Maintenance and repair expertise.
- Equipment and Machinery Experience: Familiarity with hand tools.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Willingness to travel regularly.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
- Own Tools/Equipment: Possession of steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and safety vest.
- Personal Suitability: Strong judgement, team player, punctuality, and ability to work in a permanent position with 35 hours per week.
