Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical, hydraulic, brake, and suspension systems on heavy machinery. This role involves performing regular maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure optimal performance of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service and maintain heavy equipment, including material handlers, loaders, forklifts, manlifts, shuttle wagons, and other machinery;
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to scheduled service plans;
  • Keep the work area clean and organized;
  • Complete any additional related tasks as required;
  • Evaluate and diagnose issues with state-of-the-art equipment;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and productivity;
  • Document all work completed, including parts used for reordering purposes;
  • Meet production requirements by prioritizing tasks based on urgency;
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working indoors and outdoors in various environments.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate expertise in welding and torch cutting;
  • Experience working in a heavy industrial setting with a strong emphasis on safety;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new skills quickly;
  • Proven ability to work independently, stay focused, and prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment would be an asset;
  • Applicants with 4th-year apprenticeship may also be considered;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
