Senior Labour Relations Specialist

Job Summary:
The Senior Labour Relations Advisor will provide guidance and advice to academic administrators and managers on labour relations and human resource matters. The successful candidate will have expertise in collective agreement administration, labour negotiations, and employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support to the Director, Faculty Relations and Associate Director, Faculty Relations in the negotiation of collective agreements
- Conduct research, data collection, and develop analytical tools to inform recommendations
- Prepare summary reports and maintain files related to internal complaints, grievances, awards, and settlements
- Participate in collective bargaining as assigned
Requirements:
- University degree in Industrial Relations, Law, Business Administration, or a similar relevant field
- Demonstrated skills in labour negotiations and expertise in collective agreement administration
- Proven negotiating and problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and conflict resolution skills
- Sound knowledge of employment and labour law, effective interpersonal skills, and team leadership and project management experience
