Job Overview:

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical CAD Designer to support engineering roles on nuclear projects in Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation modifications.

Your Role:

This position involves working on fast-paced technically complex projects in the nuclear industries. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing existing building status prior to project design, performing site take-offs.
  • Developing designs and technical specifications for systems such as heating, ventilation, boilers, plumbing, chilled water, building controls, and other related systems.
  • Assisting colleagues with multiple projects, promoting a knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Coordinating system requirements with electrical departments, architects, and relevant authorities.
  • Conducting site visits and inspections to review construction progress.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A college diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 10 years in mechanical design and drafting.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D, essential for this position.
  • Proficiency in other software, including AutoCAD, Smart Plant 3D, Navisworks Manage, and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to incorporate changes into AutoCAD files from marked-up engineering drawings.
  • ASME Code knowledge, considered an asset.
