The Senior Mechanical Engineer will support Refurbishment or New Build projects on the Fuel Handling team. This knowledgeable engineer will be responsible for executing commercial and internal work packages and projects, with respect to machine design and process systems.



Key Responsibilities


  • Perform conceptual and detail design engineering work on mechanical equipment and systems, including process-related design on D2O, oil hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Lead technical staff on tasks in design, development, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
  • Prepare design documentation, including design requirements, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Review design reports, analysis reports, and calculations in support of design verification.
  • Conduct technical meetings with peers, clients, and suppliers.
  • Provide technical guidance to design drafting staff and mentor junior engineers.


Requirements

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics from an accredited University is required, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in machine, automation, equipment, and/or tooling design, or 10 years of experience in the fluid power, oil hydraulic control, and/or water process control industry.



Solid understanding of mechanics of machine, mechanics of materials, material selection, and fundamentals of machine component design is required. Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section II, III, V, VIII, and IX, CSA N285.0 code, and boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping CSA B51 code is an asset.



CAD experience in Solid Edge or Solid Works is an asset.
