Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Microbiologist to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders, conducting medical research, and supervising laboratory activities.

Work Setting:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a hospital setting, with a strong understanding of medical laboratory procedures and a willingness to relocate for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  • Refer patients for surgery
  • Conduct microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Supervise laboratory activities
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
Requirements:
  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)
  • Specialty residency training
  • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
