We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Orthotic Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Assistive Technology department, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise towards evaluation, treatment planning, and custom fabrication of assistive devices, primarily orthoses, to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our inter-professional health care team to provide optimal care and assist patients in achieving their orthotic goals. You will work closely with certified clinicians to ensure the quality and integrity of orthoses provided to patients meet their physical and functional needs.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with:
- Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (annual renewal)
- Minimum of two years' experience (Technical Internship is considered experience)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with patients, families, and the health care team
- Strong problem-solving abilities, computer skills, and high level of manual dexterity
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

HoursTwo Permanent, Full-time positions available, 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives$36.54 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
