Job Summary


The Grounds Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the grounds at all facilities in District Seven, ensuring they are kept in the best possible condition.


About the Role


This role involves performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and manual tasks, including cutting grass, edging sidewalks, pruning shrubs, and operating small equipment.


Duties and Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be required to:


  1. Cut grass using a tractor and push mower.
  2. Edge and trim sidewalks, curbs, etc.
  3. Prune shrubs as directed.
  4. Drive a dump truck.
  5. Operate small equipment related to grounds work and turf care.
  6. Maintain athletic fields in pristine condition.
  7. Set up and stripe fields for band, football, lacrosse, and soccer.
  8. Lay off fields for football, lacrosse, and soccer.
  9. Keep district equipment in good working order.
  10. Poll grounds and take care of trash pickup on a daily basis.
  11. Maintain a good relationship with fellow workers, Athletic Director, and Coaches.
  12. Have or obtain within six months, a CDL.
  13. Obtain and maintain chemical applications regulatory requirements.
  14. Assist with installation of small landscaping projects.
  15. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS AND PERFORM ASSIGNED DUTIES.
  16. Be available for after-hours emergencies.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Operations.
  18. Work with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.

Terms and Conditions


This is a 12-month contract with a salary to be established by the Board. Performance will be evaluated annually in compliance with the Board's policy on evaluation and classified personnel.
