Job Summary

The Clinical Extern Paramedic position is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. As a member of the healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing head-to-toe assessments and vital signs
  • Promoting patient safety through falls risk assessments and skin assessments
  • Assisting with activities of daily living
  • Other interventions assigned or delegated by a regulated healthcare professional

As a Clinical Extern, you will work under the direct/indirect supervision of an Extern Coordinator and have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a second-year Paramedic program
  • Excellent academic standing
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Infection prevention and control practices
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Successful completion of a recent clinical placement
