Cable Network Specialists at CAT Technologies are responsible for inspecting and testing cable signals and associated equipment. They install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, read blueprints to determine work requirements, and repair cable signals. Additionally, they test equipment to locate transmission faults, climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures, and connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets. Their tasks also include determining work assignments, installing cable modems and software to enable Internet access, and maintaining and repairing aerial and underground transmission systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting and testing cable signals and associated equipment
- Installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment
- Reading blueprints to determine work requirements
- Repairing cable signals
- Testing equipment to locate transmission faults
- Climbing and working aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
- Connecting, disconnecting and relocating cable outlets
- Determining work assignments
- Installing cable modems and software to enable Internet access
- Maintaining and repairing aerial and underground transmission systems
For this role, you will need to have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar field. You will work 35 hours per week and your primary language of work will be English.
