We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at a Long-Term Care Home in Goderich, Ontario.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing rehabilitation services to Residents, working within a multidisciplinary team to assess, recommend, and implement therapeutic interventions. They will also serve as a resource and educator to the Home's staff and Residents/Families for safety, quality, and risk management activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Physiotherapy Assessments for new Residents and quarterly reassessments
  • Create and oversee Resident- and family-centered Care Plans
  • Assign tasks to Physiotherapist Assistants and supervise Resident treatment and progress
  • Implement, monitor, and modify treatment to achieve Resident/Family goals
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement program
  • Provide in-house staff education sessions on topics such as body mechanics and rehab equipment
Qualifications:
  • Eligible for registration or Registrant in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Completion of satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) upon hire
  • Up to date on required vaccinations
  • Knowledge/experience in evidence-based musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory practice
  • Superior communication and clinical reasoning skills
  • Caring and compassionate in all interactions with Residents and Families
Desirable Skills and Experience:

Prior experience in delivering Physiotherapy Services for the geriatric population in an integrated care setting, preferably in a Long-Term Care Home. Certification as a Certified Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Authorizer is also an asset.
