Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Janitor to join our team at Extendicare Guildwood. As a Janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our 161-bed facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing floors and surfaces.
  • Empty wastebaskets, dust, and rearrange furniture as needed.
  • Transport supplies and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Participate in heavy cleaning duties, such as deep cleaning and cleaning outside grounds.
  • Ensure resident privacy and confidentiality during performance of duties.

Requirements:

  • Considerable lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and write English and follow simple written and verbal instructions.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, working evenings. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team to maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents.
