Road Xpress Ltd. is a leading transportation company seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs on our heavy equipment fleet. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions;
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required;
- Order parts and maintain inventory;
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts;
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation;
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications;
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic;
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment;
- Valid driver's license;
- Welding experience a plus.
