Job Summary:

  • As a Retail Floor Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in driving store operations and performance at Talize.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Retail Floor Manager to coordinate team efforts and achieve daily department standards.
  • Support the selection, screening, and development of Retail Floor Team Members.
  • Lead training sessions on point of sale operations, customer service, and company policies.
  • Contribute to the management team by providing support, attending meetings, and sharing information.

Employee Relations:

  • Assist in providing direction to Retail Floor Team Members regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Recognize and report policy infractions to the Retail Floor Manager and General Manager.
  • Contribute to employee recognition programs and events.

Health and Safety:

  • Maintain a safe and organized store environment by monitoring and addressing hazards.
  • Take action against external and internal theft, following company guidelines.
  • Report employee or customer accidents to the Retail Floor Manager or General Manager.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Complete floor walks and delegate tasks to Retail Floor Team Members.
  • Handle register transactions, including exchanges, refunds, and cancellations.
  • Verify merchandise pricing and address customer inquiries.
  • Manage store funds securely and process cash deposits.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of sale days.

Other Duties:

  • Maintain professionalism while communicating with peers, managers, and customers.
  • Collaborate with store management to achieve shared goals and responsibilities.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as requested by the Retail Floor Manager or General Manager.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of retail experience.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience.
  • Previous work in a thrift retail environment is an asset.

  • Team Building: Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the Retail department.
  • Communication: Clearly articulate messages to groups or individuals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Constant bending, reaching, and using hands for repetitive actions.
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Pushing and pulling merchandise containers weighing up to 500lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to dust throughout the shift.
  • Periodic temperature fluctuations and noise levels.
  • Work schedule hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Interaction with customers, clients, and the public.
