Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced HSQE Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and maintaining a safe working environment. The successful candidate will provide specialized support for the Company's HSE policies and programs, driving system compliance across all aspects of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Leadership: Drive the incident management process, providing guidance and oversight, and participating in investigations as necessary.
- Risk Assessment: Employ HSQE best practices and risk assessment methodologies to minimize risks to our crews, assets, customers, and the environment.
- Policy Development: Oversee the development and implementation of H&S policies, procedures, and emergency response programs to mitigate risks.
- Compliance Management: Maintain compliance with applicable international, federal, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Training and Development: Provide onboarding orientation to new hires and occasional safety-related training.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or diploma in Health and Safety or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in the industrial or transportation industry.
- Knowledge of federal health and safety regulatory requirements.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards to the marine industry.
- Certified trainer or experience in providing training such as First Aid & CPR is considered an asset.
