We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Deputy Chief of Fire Rescue Services at the City of Edmonton. As a senior executive, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of fire rescue services to over 1 million Edmontonians.

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the risk management of various emergency response situations, including fire suppression, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents. You will also lead the design and delivery of training programs for the fire service, develop long-term strategies for fire rescue operations, and collaborate with other leaders to achieve organizational outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Strategically lead Fire Rescue Operations and ensure front-line services are delivered effectively.
  • Oversee risk management of various emergency response situations.
  • Lead the design and delivery of training programs for the fire service.
  • Develop long-term strategies for fire rescue operations.

**Requirements:**

  • Advanced knowledge, training, or education in Business Administration, Public Administration, Fire Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a large, complex organization managing a diverse team in the delivery of emergency services.
  • Ability to facilitate groups with competing interests and priorities.
