At Jardeg-Construction, we are seeking a skilled Ironworker Journeyperson to join our team for various project sites in the Province of Alberta. This is an expression of interest for future opportunities within the Maintenance and Turnaround group.

As an Ironworker Journeyperson, you will have the opportunity to work on fly-in/fly-out, drive-in/drive-out, and local roles, which may provide camp accommodations, LOA, or other travel incentives. We often recruit for both long-term and short-term positions, allowing for more flexibility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Erecting and installing scaffolding, construction cranes, derricks, and other hoisting equipment.
  • Assembling rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials.
  • Checking the alignments and joining steel parts by bolting or tack welding them with an electric arc process.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Ironworker (generalist, structural, or ornamental) certification.
  • Proven experience as a Journeyperson Ironworker, preferably in industrial or construction settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ironworker materials, tools, and installation techniques.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS-09.
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry & Monitor.
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection.
  • Basic Rigging Certification.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Aerial Work Platform.
  • First Aid.
  • WHMIS.
