Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Lead Staff: Oversee the daily activities of sales staff, including cashiers, retail salespersons, and sales clerks, to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.
- Assign Duties and Tasks: Assign sales workers to duties, including sales floor coverage, customer service, and visual merchandising.
- Hire and Train Staff: Hire and train new staff members, or arrange for training, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Authorize Payments and Merchandise: Authorize payments by cheque and order merchandise to maintain an adequate stock level.
- Establish Work Schedules: Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and meet business needs.
- Sell Merchandise: Sell merchandise to customers, including handling customer inquiries and resolving issues.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
- Resolve Issues: Resolve issues that may arise, including customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges.
- Organize Inventory: Organize and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and minimize waste.
- Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers to ensure efficient and effective operations.
The Retail Store Supervisor will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with tight deadlines and heavy workloads. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, handle heavy loads, and maintain attention to detail.
Requirements- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
- Language: English.
- Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
